Tom Brady is an American Sports hero. No doubt about it. Everybody knows him. But Football, especially “American Football” is played in a small part of the world. Tom Brady is probably the biggest global star the sport has ever seen. And even he is unknown in most parts of the world. Like Brazil.

Well, he’s not unknown as much as he is ‘differently known.’ In the States, fans & haters alike call Tom by different names. Nothing over-the-top, nothing extraordinary. TB12 has 7-Super Bowl rings but not even one cool moniker.

Well, maybe that’s the case in the States. Because down south in Brazil, Giselle Bundchen’s home country, Tom Brady is known by the coolest name ever. The Supermodel is immensely popular in Brazil and an inspiring figure amongst the youth. People in Brazil know Tom through her and so call Brady, “Gisello” or Giselle’s husband!

The Supermodel was talking to a Brazilian journalist, last year in March. Tom Brady casually stopped by during the interview and tried to show off his Portuguese skills. Although, he admitted that he was only good at understanding the language and not so much while speaking it. The journalist was telling Brady that even though he had won so many rings, “In Brazil, people call you “Gisello” or “Giselle’s Husband”

The two break into laughter and then Bundchen asks Brady, “How does that make you feel?”

The former Super Bowl MVP replies, “I am perfectly okay with that. I love it. I actually am. I love my wife and I love being in her life no matter what.”

During the interview, the host also mentions that Giselle has had a wonderful career post-retirement. And would Brady also plan something similar in the second innings of his life?

Tom Brady struggles to answer. His intelligent wife has to step in and say, “He’ll help me,” and Brady dutifully agrees. Later on, Brady says, “I told her I only know two languages, English and Football, American Football.”

In retrospect, it is arguable that Brady just doesn’t understand much other than football. Or at least for him, football sits at the epitome of things worthy of his time. Whatever the case might be, Brady has returned to football after only weeks of retirement. It shows that the QB is not as equipped to handle life after his first glamorous career, as his Supermodel-turned-activist wife, Giselle Bundchen.
