Veteran NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger missed the majority of the 2019 NFL season with an elbow injury. Many expected the aging Super Bowl winner to hang his boots up for good, considering he was on the wrong side of 35 in the build-up to last season. However, Big Ben returned with a bang.
Along with some support from his defensive teammates, Roethlisberger led the Steelers to an unprecedented 11-0 record in 2020. They finished the regular season as AFC North champions with a 12-4 record.
They suffered a shock defeat in the Wild Card Round to divisional rivals, Cleveland Browns. Despite a disappointing end to a promising campaign, Roethlisberger insisted he wanted to play at least another season with his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. Just 3 days after turning 39, his wish has seemingly come true.
