The time has finally come. Tom Brady officially proclaimed his retirement from the NFL and brings an end to the greatest era in pro football history. This was his second retirement in the span of a year. However, this time, it looks like TB12 will not be changing his mind a few weeks down the road.

This announcement comes a day after Brady made his show-business debut with ’80 for Brady’. Both as an actor and as a producer. And this decision is not entirely a surprise to many, especially since the cloud he left hanging over his future during his last press conference of the season.

Brady had already thanked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization and their fans after this year’s playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys. And he finished the rest of his retirement speech today. Two weeks before the Super Bowl this year, TB12 has shaken the NFL world with this rather foreseeable announcement.

After Playing In 23 Seasons And 372 Games, Tom Brady Throws His Weight Around Past Versus Present Debate

I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring. For good. Thank you, guys, so much. To every single one of you. For supporting me. My family. My friends. Teammates. My competitors. I could go on forever. There are too many. Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you all,” TB12 said, while almost choking up in an emotional farewell.

The former NE Patriots QB announced his first retirement in February last year and reversed his decision shortly after. This potentially led to the end of his 13-year marriage with Gisele Bündchen. However, this time, it looks like Brady is finally at peace with calling it quits.

The chances of a return to the league 40 days later, like last time, seem far-fetched after the seven-time Super Bowl champion cleared some details in the minute-long video he posted on Twitter. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time. When I woke up this morning, I figured I’ll just press record and let you guys know first. So this won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay. And I used mine up last year,” Brady added.
