Who is the best in their respective fields of football and soccer? The answer to this question will always be controversial. There is no undisputed winner. When it comes to the NFL, some will argue that Tom Brady is the GOAT. Some will say a young player like Patrick Mahomes is better. Some might give that honor to the legendary Joe Montana. Answering this question will never be easy.

Same with soccer. If you ask people to name the best soccer player in the world, the answers will be mixed. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona and so many more big names will be thrown on the table. But when it comes to the question, you can not ignore the likes of Tom Brady and Lionel Messi. That is exactly what the British journalist Piers Morgan has done.

Tom Brady is not the GOAT for Piers Morgan

When asked to name his best sports players of all time, the journalists omitted Tom Brady and Lionel Messi. He said that he does not consider them the greatest of all time. According to Good Morning Britain, co-host, the greatest NFL player ever is Joe Montana.

After Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for the record fifth time, Morgan said, “Magnificent athlete with an extraordinary work ethic.” But he argued that Tom Brady is not the GOAT. “Eclipsed him when it comes to dominance at their sport or pure genius.”For the 55-year-old English presenter, nobody is better in the NFL than Joe Montana.

When talking about soccer, Piers ruled out Messi. Leo lost this battle to his fierce rival, Cristiano Ronaldo. Choosing one over the other between these two is no easy task. Unless, of course, you are Piers Morgan. He had no problem choosing Ronaldo. “A supreme athlete and phenomenal competitor, who has won trophies in four different countries, Cristiano is the best real footballer to ever lace his boots.” Said Morgan.

While everyone will not agree with Morgan, he makes some valid points. There will never be one true answer to the GOAT question. Everyone is special in their own way. Tom Brady and Lionel Messi will be the best for many, but so will Cristiano Ronaldo and Patrick Mahomes. It is a question that has no wrong or correct answer.
