Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett was the latest athlete to come under the microscope of the NFL’s drug testing authorities. Garrett becomes part of the group of players who use social media being directed to appear for a PED test. The NFL does have a no-tolerance policy over the use of PEDs by NFL players and does reach out on suspicion.

Garrett has also been in touch with the officials earlier in the season after one of his sleeveless photos. The picture in question was put by Garrett on social media on Monday showing his chiseled body. The authorities did reach out to him the very next day while contacting him personally for testing.

Several players like Odell Beckham Jr. were also in contact with the NFL testing agency after his recent performances. The league does care for fairness within the game and does conduct these tests regularly on suspicion. Some players do take the process of contact by the league’s testing agencies as a badge of honor for their efforts.

Myles Garrett key for success

The Browns DE has not been in playoffs this season after a disappointing campaign all around. But his individual performances did receive recognition from AP who did name him in their All-Pro and Pro Bowl teams. He was a real bright spot for Cleveland who was a shadow of the team from the 2020 season. Injuries to QB Baker Mayfield early on in the season really did show up as he wasn’t able to express himself.

They did end up finishing with an 8-9 win-loss record and did finish 3rd in the AFC North division. But with Garrett and a healthy Mayfield, Browns do have an opportunity to go again in 2022. The 3-time Pro Bowl DE is surely raring to go when the 2022 season kicks off. It was their offensive problems that did restrict Cleveland from the postseason.

They also have a great opportunity to grab a huge prospect from the 2022 NFL Draft. They will be hoping to strike gold as they did with Myles in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Cleveland faithful are indeed hungry for new champions and they will be looking forward to that opportunity.
