The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in serious talks to fill in that massive Tom Brady void in the Bucs roster. It is not going to be an easy-going offseason for them. One of the most likely prospects for the Bucs seems to be the free-agent Jameis Winston. But will coach Arians run with him after failing to do it once?

Rich Eisen, during his show, asked the Bucs Insider Rick Stroud for that available option. Stroud, however, had a very straightforward answer to it. He said that even though he is ready for work and is fine with Tampa Bay, he might not get to play there.

Rick Stroud on Bruce Arians not inclined towards Jameis Winston

“I don’t think Bruce Arians is fine with it,” Stroud stated. “I just, you know, been there done that. There was a time when there were seven and seven in his one year here under Bruce, and I thought he was going to make it he fought through for like 460 something, two games in a row. And then they played Houston, who they actually dominated on defense, and then they played Atlanta, and he threw both games away. And I saw on Bruce’s face that day that he had reached his limit with Jameis Winston.”

But then Eisen rose the question that if not Winston then the Bucs might have to go with Blaine Gabbert. He mentioned that Gabbert’s record has not been something to appreciate and was more of a Brady’s “tequila sunrise partner” rather than an effective backup as per the fans.

Stroud had a very good argument to throw on that note. He emphasized that Gabbert was not signed by a good Jacksonville team playing among the mixup of seven or eight coordinators in those years. Gabbert also hasn’t had enough chances to play with good teams and has not played for a long time now. Yet he keeps himself in good shape despite being 32 years old and away from the field. And the Bucs is going to be the best team he will ever play with during his career.

Bruce Arians and his team of coaches has to make a Winston vs. Gabbert decision and come up with a more successful option, which Stroud thinks is more inclined towards the latter.
