Mike Evans, the 29-year-old wide-out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is TB12’s trustworthy partner to connect his throws on the field. But when he was younger, he did not like the star QB all that much. Instead, he was a huge fan of one of Tom Brady’s contemporaries.
“When I was a kid, I grew up not liking Tom Brady cuz I was a Peyton Manning fan,” he told reporters once. “And now I’m the biggest Tom Brady fan.”

Brady and Manning were the biggest rivals till the time the Colts’ star played football. The two played 17 times against each other. Brady holds an 11-6 record against The Sheriff and has five more rings than the 46-year-old. In his famous podcast, Let’s Go!, Tampa Tom spoke about the way he criticizes his teammates. He never does it publicly, unlike the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers. Brady goes to the players or coaches to share his grievances. He may not remain cool after he becomes a broadcaster, though.
“I feel like there’s probably more Johnny Miller in me. When I used to watch him on golf telecasts he was just scathing sometimes. That guy choked under pressure or whatever. That’s actually how I ended up seeing the game a lot now. Not that I want to be negative, but I do want to point [things] out.”
