Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement in an emotional Twitter post. But this is not the first time he has called it quits from the NFL. Previously, in 2019, Gronk announced that he’ll be retiring, citing he was not in a good place at the moment. However, later in 2020, after Brady joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the TE made a comeback.

On the other hand, his retirement this time seems like a final adieu to fans. Responding to his tweets, fans posted heartfelt reactions. The four-time Super Bowl champion remarked that he has always wanted to be a professional football player, and the Bucs made it happen for him.

In the post, Gronk said, “In college, I was asked to write about my dream job opportunity I wanted to pursue and where the location would be. Every time I had to write about my future, no matter what, I picked being a professional football player.”

Gronk acknowledged how he made a comeback from retirement and won another championship with the NFL legend Tom Brady. He said, “From retirement, back to football and winning another championship and now back to chilling out, thank you to all.”

Moreover, his playoff career stats are impressive as well. Gronk has 81 receptions, 1,163 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns. Rob Gronkowski, till now, has the most career postseason receiving yards by a tight end, that is, 1,163. Even though his celebrated career comes to an end, his fans will always remember him as an entertainer and star performer on the field.
