The Patriots faced a bit of drama in the past few weeks after their 2 OTA training dismissal for violating offseason rules. The fans didn’t waste a single second before accusing the team of foul play. Bill Belichick, head coach of the team, was ridiculed on the internet for yet another cheating scandal. As there are no extended punishments, the Patriots are now back at the OTA grounds with some changes to the management. The Patriots filled their recently fired coordinator’s place with Bill O’Brien. While the new offense coordinator was getting used to the new environment, Mac Jones was killing it on the ground.

From Jones’ last-year dismissal after a foot injury to killing it on the training grounds this offseason, is really remarkable. After his training video made rounds on the internet, the fans are unwilling to believe its legitimacy.

The Patriots recently posted a video on their Twitter page, where Jones is seen throwing a dart-like bomb throw at his teammate. The portrait video has gained over 1.5 million views on Twitter. Jones’ throw is caught by the wide receiver, Tyquan Thornton, who seems to be over 100 yards away and catches the ball with ease. While some of the fans were hyped to see their favorite players’ god-like performance, others piled on the team with criticism for a probable editing job on the video.

Jones has had a lot of responsibilities at the center after taking Tom Brady‘s place. The Patriots haven’t performed as well after their new QB on the roster. The last season wasn’t definitely good for the team as there weren’t suitable players to support Jones on the field. But now that he is joined by some new faces on the team, he shows a real prospect of hope for the fans in the upcoming season.

Bill Belichick, the head coach of the team has a lot of hopes for Jones. Even though Jones had poor performance in the previous season, he decided not to trade him and have faith in his potential. And the video is proof of improvement.

The Twitter world reacts to the video

After his training video went viral, Bussin’ with The Boys sports podcast page reposted the video with a caption, “Am I crazy or does it look like the Patriots edited this video?“. The fans were very quick to pile their thoughts on the QB and how it could never be a real video.

One fan wrote,

If it’s Mac – it’s edited…guy can’t throw further than 40 yards“.

Another fan went as far as to make a sarcastic comment toward the team, which read,

Yes, but I believe what the Patriots are putting out there- they’ve always been a trustworth….. ahhh, never mind

Some of the fans came to Jones’ defense and wrote,

If you watched Mac Jones at Bama, you know it isn’t edited

Not edited. Cameraman got tricked into where the throw was going and had to adjust his shot + zoomed in gives that ‘edited’ look it has.
