“Cancer Shows No Favoritism”: Terry Bradshaw Once Opened Up About the Hard Realities of Human Life

The presence of Terry Bradshaw in the 1970s wrought chaos in the NFL. With four Super Bowl victories, the Steelers legend was unrivaled. However, being a gridiron athlete comes with a lot of challenges. The legendary quarterback also had a battle with cancer, but he stood firm despite the troubles. He opened up about his experiences during a media appearance.

Cancer is an obstinate battle, and Terry Bradshaw had a prolonged war with it. The former NFL legend had not just one, but two types of cancer. He opened up about his journey with it in November on the Today Show with Harry Smith. He also revealed why he kept it a secret.

Terry Bradshaw mentioned, “I wasn’t scared, I never was scared. I guess cancer didn’t think [I was larger than life]. Cancer shows no favoritism. Honestly, Harry, I said, ‘What do we do?’ As a man of faith, a Christian, I was like, ‘If I go, it’s okay. If I stay, I’m okay.’”

Terry Bradshaw did not open up about his battle with cancer since he did not want to generate pity from the audience. However, he received criticism for losing his breath during a Fox Sports football show. It led to the fans’ critique of the former Steelers legend. Bradshaw took notice and then came out to talk about his struggles with the disease.

Apart from cancer, the former NFL QB also dealt with concussions when he was active. He penned a note and stressed the importance of taking head traumas seriously since they could lead to disastrous troubles.

Terry Bradshaw gave up a mega project over serious health concerns

Despite concussion frights and cancer battles, Terry Bradshaw stood tall and is journeying through the course of his life. However, he had to give up one of his entertainment projects over a health scare. As per TMZ, The Bradshaw Bunch, Bradshaw’s family entertainment program, will not return for a second season.

They have officially canceled the cherished show after two installments due to a dominant risk factor for the former NFL quarterback’s health. It starred the Steelers legend, his wife Tammy, and their three daughters. The show was filmed on the former quarterback’s ranch in Oklahoma.
