Jerry Jeudy gave the Cleveland Browns a reason to trust him in a close game, but trade rumors have put his future in doubt. With the score tied against the Baltimore Ravens on third-and-5, Jeudy caught a 33-yard pass from Deshaun Watson to help set up Andre Szmyt’s winning field goal. The victory pushed Cleveland to the top of the AFC North, making the reports about a possible trade even more surprising.

Jeudy’s value to Cleveland was clear in 2024, when he arrived from Denver in exchange for two draft picks. He finished his first season with 90 catches for 1,229 yards and earned a Pro Bowl selection. The Browns then gave him a three-year, $52.5 million extension. Now, with the November 10 trade deadline approaching, Cleveland must weigh his recent contributions against the possibility of moving him to another team.
On Wednesday, according to Spencer German on X, Jeudy was asked about the rumors and kept it short. “You see it, but you can’t do nothing about it. You just keep continuing doing what you do every day,” he said.
Jeudy acknowledged the trade rumors but emphasized his focus on daily preparation and performance.
Asked whether he had spoken to GM Andrew Berry, he said, “I’m gonna keep that…you know we just keeping it day-by-day, man. We’re doing it day-by-day.”
He was more open about his role. He called it “kind of frustrating” not to be involved as much as he’d like. But he said Watson told him he would need him in some of these games and to stay locked in. “I heard that,” Jeudy said.
Cleveland drafted receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the first two rounds this year, and both quickly moved to the top of the depth chart. Boston had long touchdowns in each of the first two weeks. The Browns also cut veteran receiver Cedric Tillman after the draft. Jeudy had two catches on five targets through the first three games, and coach Todd Monken reportedly moved him out of the X receiver spot.
His numbers had already fallen. After the 2024 Pro Bowl season, he caught 50 passes for 602 yards in 2025. Sportsnaut counts 683 receiving yards over his last 22 games. Through the first five games this fall, he played about 58% of the offensive snaps.
Jerry Jeudy could be on the move before the November 10 trade deadline. ESPN reporter Adam Schefter reported that the Browns are open to letting him go. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Cleveland hopes to get a third- or fourth-round draft pick in return. However, Sportsnaut reported that interested teams are not keen on meeting that demand. Money could also be a factor, as Jeudy is under contract with Cleveland through 2027 and earns around $17.5 million per season.
Jeudy’s recent performances could make the Browns think twice about trading him. In the Week 4 win over the Steelers, he caught two passes for 27 yards on the game-winning drive. Against the Ravens, he recorded a season-high 69 receiving yards. The Browns are now at the top of the AFC North, so they may not want to lose a player who can make big plays in close games.
However, Cleveland has other options if it decides to trade Jerry Jeudy. A to Z Sports named Isaiah Bond and Tylan Wallace as players who could get more playing time. The Browns also see their rookie receivers as part of their plans for the future.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry now has to make a decision. Jeudy is 27, and his trade value may not go much higher. Whether he stays in Cleveland or joins another team will likely depend on the offers Berry gets before the November 10 deadline.
