On a recent episode of Fox Sports’ Hot Take, Colin Cowherd compared two quarterbacks in the NFL- Carson Wentz and Russell Wilson. Cowherd stated that Philadelphia Eagles‘ QB Wentz is walking on the path of Seattle Seahawks’ QB Wilson.

Speaking on the show, Cowherd stated that Wentz should be placed on any of the top-three positions of the league-wide draft. Cowherd has always been an Eagles fan and has been seen defending the team through a series of situations.
Colin Cowherd leaped to the Eagles QB’s defense and claimed that his consistency earns him a spot in the top three. However, ESPN NFL’s mock draft saw Wentz at P11.
The Fox Sports’ host said that he should be placed behind Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Seahawks’ Russell Wilson. Cowherd went on to praise Carson Wentz as he compared the 27-year-old QB to an experienced QB Wilson.
He stated that Wentz has been following in the icon’s path, as he has been a consistent and unique player like Wilson for his team.

Cowherd may be onto something with respect to this comparison, as both the quarterbacks have similar statistics on the field. In the initial four years of his career, Wilson had a completion percentage of 64.7%. Whereas, Carson Wentz has a completion percentage of 63.8% after four years.

Wilson had a total of 106 touchdowns while Wentz had 97 touchdowns. Both QB’s average nearly the same number of touchdowns per game. Wilson made 34 interceptions whereas Wentz made 35.
Wilson praises Carson Wentz
Recently, in an interview, Russell Wilson stated that he was fortunate enough to watch Carson play in the previous season. He added that Carson is playing great football and he is going to be a great football player for a long time.
