All these teams have been terrible over the first half of the season. Carson Wentz and the Eagles are top of the table after Sunday night’s 23-9 win over the Cowboys. But analysts are not happy with the former MVP award winner’s performance.

Wentz went 15 of 27, throwing for 123 yards with 2 passing TDs against 2 interceptions. But former NFL man Marcellus Wiley claims that Carson needs to be better in order to justify the ‘franchise tag’ associated with his name.

Despite cementing their spot at the top of the NFC East Division, Wiley believes that ‘franchise quarterback’ Carson Wentz is playing well below average standards.

He said, “Carson Wentz proved how overpaid he is. You went blow-for-blow with Ben DiNucci? The Nucci man?…. Oh, this is disgusting.

“I have so many takes that I’m just going to calm down and give them to you, slice by slice. Why don’t I just put an umbrella on this?

“This is the NFC East so the only thing that’s certain is uncertainty but there is now starting to look like there is one guarantee in the NFC East that overpaid Carson Wentz will deliver and he will show you that he is not a franchise quarterback anymore.

“All those days of winning the MVP before injury are long behind. This dude put up a worse stat line against the worst than the Nucci man, it’s insane,” Wiley said on the show.

Doug Pederson’s Philadelphia Eagles are currently on a 3-4-1 record heading into Week 9. They have a bye week to rest and recuperate before taking on the NFC East opponents, New York Giants, in Week 10.
