The Chicago Bears have made some depth in their quarterbacks’ roster. This brings in more competition for Justin Fields and Trevor Siemian in the position. The franchise has added some veteran power as Nathan Peterman. The journeyman quarterback has had some major stops in the NFL, and this is just the next big deal for the backup QB in the future.

The new Chicago Bears signee is quite a famous face in the league. However, it isn’t as conventional as one might think. Peterman might be in the developmental appearance. Second-year quarterback Justin Fields would begin the calls for the Bears. Free-agent acquisition Trevor Siemian would be filling in, just in case.

Chicago Bears GM Drops Verdict on Justin Fields’ QB1 Future After Mediocre Rookie Season

He mentions, Free-agent QB Nathan Peterman is signing a one-year contract with the #Bears, per source. Peterman — who opened the 2018 season as the #Bills’ starter ahead of Josh Allen — spent the last few seasons with the #Raiders. Now, he joins Justin Fields and Trevor Siemian in Chicago.”

Many consider him to be the worst QBs in NFL history. He has invested the very last 4 seasons like a reserve with the Buffalo Bills and the Las Vegas Raiders. Peterman is back in the fight after splurging the first few weeks of summer as a free agent. He’ll most likely be the Bears’ third quarterback underneath Justin Fields and Trevor Siemian. The Bears did not immediately disclose the provisions of his contract.

Will Chicago Bears prosper with Nathan Peterman

During the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Peterman crafted eight performances for the Bills, which included four starts. With a 32.5 passer rating. He completed 52.6 percent of his passes, threw three touchdown passes and 12 turnovers, and the defense sacked the QB 8 times.

While this may not look like they may not cut him out for the NFL quarterback job; The Chicago Bears may keep him in the reserve or training spot while the regular season games begin. He might very well, however, bring a huge amount of experience to the young quarterback as a fallback option.
