Week 3 of the 2022 season was filled with lots of drama. The Chiefs had to face a frustrating defeat at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts after showcasing a classic performance in the first two games. However, one of the most eye-catching moments was Patrick Mahomes being involved in a verbal spat with the OC Eric Bieniemy. Although the issue was claimed immaterial, the former Running Back gave real insights into the matter.
LeSean McCoy played for Kansas City in 2019 and has enough expertise to understand and speculate the atmosphere inside the locker room. During the half-time of the Week 3 game, the Chiefs QB was having a serious discussion with Bieniemy.

From the fans’ perspective, it looked more like an altercation, but the management refused to acknowledge it. They called it a normal discussion between a serious game. However, McCoy believes that something was shady in the entire scenario.
“All Bieniemy does is argue with the players .. KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT passing or PLAY CALLING” McCoy commented on an Instagram video related to this issue. Well, it was not the first time for this veteran.
Back in May, while speaking in a podcast, McCoy shot some arrows at Bieniemy. “Some players, he talks to them a certain way, and some players would take it. I wouldn’t take it. There were some questions I would ask because everyone is accountable,” McCoy said about the OC being unable to land a head coaching position.
If this theory was correct, something seems fishy about the way this management handled the issues. Even Patrick Mahomes reiterated that they were on good terms and what fans saw as just the heat of the moment.

“He’s a competitive kid. He wants to take advantage of every opportunity I thought was best just with a ride there, but really, if you heard the words that were said that wasn’t.” Reid said in the press conference. “I don’t know how it looks to you guys, but it wasn’t a confrontation at all,” he added.
