There’s no denying that despite all the troubles surrounding Deshaun Watson, he is an outstanding athlete. The quarterback laid out the opposing defense the moment he set foot in the NFL. As cosmic as his NFL days have been, his college career has been more prosperous. Moreover, back in his college career days, he had a major fan, who was none other than Ex-US President Donald Trump.
Deshaun Watson was like the face of the University of Clemson back in the days. In 2016, the quarterback got his team, the Tigers, to a national championship. This led to his big breakthrough; the NFL call-up. Houston Texans selected him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Back in 2017, the Clemson football team was visiting the White House to commemorate their National Championship. Deshaun Watson, a former Clemson star, was in presence after the Texans’ owner Bob McNair transported him, Carlos Watkins, and Jamey Rootes on a private jet to the ceremony. McNair made sure Watson didn’t lose the poignant scene.

The former US President also calls down Watson in the front to make him recognized. Both share a moment with Trump’s over-the-top handshake and his patting on Watson’s shoulders. This was by far the finest handshake Trump has given since taking office.
There has been a pattern that Trump prefers NFL candidates who have won a bunch of matches or accolades in college, despite having a few draft busts in a line. However, Deshaun Watson has somehow lived by Trump’s praise.
