Colin Kaepernick Donates Nike Backpacks to Youths Commemorating 6 Years of Protest

NFL quarterback turned activist Colin Kaepernick has become an icon amongst young children. Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights campaign is meant to generate awareness about civil rights enjoyed by the citizens of the US. The campaign is gaining popularity amongst children. Moreover, this time, the campaign and KYRC donated Nike backpacks to students in the back-to-school season.

Kaep’s protest marked the 6th anniversary of his stand against police brutality and systemic racism. The former QB’s protest received a lot of criticism, but he continued his protest to forward his ideals. Additionally, the Know Your Rights campaign is an initiative in furtherance of the protest by Kaepernick that started in 2016.

Moreover, the campaign looks to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, and mass mobilization. It fosters the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of leaders. The KYRC continues to help the black and brown communities with initiatives created to empower them.

In addition, the KYRC supports schools, organizations, and communities to ensure that the youth is thriving. Kaepernick’s initiative spreads awareness and resources for the prosperity of the young generation. To commemorate the 6th anniversary of his protest, children received Nike backpacks and their joy was visible.

The former 49ers‘ QB has not featured in a game since he was snubbed out of the NFL for protesting against police brutality. No one showed much interest in him, but Kaepernick was determined to make a return. Consequently, he worked out with the Raiders and in front of other teams to make his case.

Although he has not secured a contract, Kaepernick is optimistic about making a return. He fought a tough battle with the NFL by accusing them of blackballing him. As a result, he was able to perform a workout showing off his skills.

The KYRC is a noble initiative that is spreading joy by giving resources to the youth. As Kaep continues to make efforts, there is still no sign of him making a sure-shot return to the NFL this season.
