The University of Michigan has chosen the former NFL quarterback as honorary captain of the Maize and Blue spring game. Although, he will have another event during the game inside the Michigan Stadium on Saturday.

During Jim Harbaugh’s 4 seasons as the 49ers’ head mentor, Kaepernick performed for the current Michigan coach. However, Colin hasn’t been in the NFL since 2016. After that season, he became a free agent but remains unclaimed to date. With his exercise videos on social media, the former football player is attempting to make a return. He’s trying to show everyone that he is available to compete if chosen by an NFL team.

Colin Kaepernick to host a half-time event

The ‘exhibition throwing event’ spectacle will take effect at the halftime of Saturday’s Michigan Wolverines spring football game, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. Several draft-eligible participants will join Kaepernick on the occasion. ESPN expects NFL teams will send representatives. Franchises will be able to attend, unlike prior activities involving the NFL and the NCAA.

Given Kaepernick’s link with Jim Harbaugh, who mentored him from 2011 to 2014, this stands to reason. The two have certainly maintained a wonderful rapport.
