Kaepernick’s record can, at best, be called decent for a QB, but it would be difficult to say whether he could rank alongside the elite QBs in the NFL if stacked up against them.

Are Kaepernick’s figures good enough among elite QBs to warrant selection?

Kaepernick definitely has some stats to back his claims as one of the best QBs in the NFL. His passing touchdown to interception rate was fifth-best in the league at 72:30. However, on the other side, he also had the worst sack percentage among QBs, with only Derek Carr ranking below him.

Kaepernick’s overall statistics as a QB are quite average for one of the most recognized QBs in the league. While it is difficult to say how things would have been, had the 49ers’ QB had a longer career?

At the time when he actively played, his figures do not stand out to warrant inclusion as a starter in any team. These figures would have more of an impact now since franchises would look at them if they are considering signing Kaepernick after his long hiatus away from the NFL.
