Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been a part of the NFL since 2017. He has tried many times to return to the league, but to no avail. Despite his absence from the league, he has been involved in a number of controversies.

One such issue related to the video game Madden 19. EA Sports is the producer of Madden 19, and it’s considered the best game for NFL fans. In Madden 19, a song had Colin Kaepernick’s name in it. EA had to censor his name because they didn’t have the right to add Kap’s name.

The Song’s name was Big Bank, and rapper Big Sean used the former 49ers quarterback’s name in it. EA Sports later issued an apology regarding the matter. EA said, “We made an unfortunate mistake with our Madden NFL soundtrack. Members of our team misunderstood the fact that while we don’t have rights to include Colin Kaepernick in the game, this doesn’t affect soundtracks. We messed up, and the edit should never have happened.”

They added, “We will make it right, with an update to Madden NFL 19 on Aug. 6 that will include the reference again. We meant no disrespect, and we apologize to Colin, to YG and Big Sean, to the NFL, to all of their fans and our players for this mistake.” EA Sports didn’t mean to disrespect Kaepernick, and their apology showed their stance on the issue.

Colin Kaepernick is a part of Madden 22

Madden 22 is the latest installment of EA’s Madden franchise. Even though Colin Kaepernick isn’t a part of any team in the NFL, he is present in the Madden 22 game.

You can play with Kaepernick in the fantasy draft mode. Many people love the former 49ers quarterback and enjoy using him as their quarterback in their favorite video game. When the game was released last year, Kap had a better rating than Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. At the time of release, Kaepernick had a rating of 81 while Burrow had a rating of 77.
