Even though the Raiders offered Colin Kaepernick an opportunity to workout with the team, they haven’t proposed a deal for him. All eyes are glued to the Raiders front office and owner Mark Davis, who advocated Kaepernick’s right to a second chance. However, NFL analyst Albert Breer seems to contradict all the speculations. When experts claimed the practice session was a success, Breer made a critical statement about Kaepernick’s future in the AFC West.

Last Wednesday, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback met with an NFL team after staying away from the sport for more than five years. No doubt, he showcased some of his throwing skills and proved that his grip over the game is still intact. But Breer claims that the deal may not work out for the signal-caller anytime soon.

“I’d say the door is being left open for a deal, but it probably won’t happen right now,” Breer wrote. “The workout itself went well. He didn’t blow everyone away or anything like that. But he showed he was in shape, and that his arm strength is still intact, even at 34 years old and after five seasons out of the league.” he added, saying the hype was overestimated by the fans.

Moreover, it is to be noted, that this was not the first session conducted by the team with an outsider. Also, this does not guarantee Kaepernick a spot on their roster. It can be viewed as an encouragement for the quarterback, who is desperately trying to make an NFL comeback. At the same time, notifying other teams of his readiness to start a game in the pro football league.

Mark Davis extended his support for Colin Kaepernick

While none of the teams publicly advocated the Nevada alumnus, it was Mark Davis(Raiders owner) who went out publicly supporting Kaepernick’s skills and his right to a second chance.

“If our coaches and general manager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarterback on this team, I would welcome him with open arms,” Davis said in his recent public statements.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old is physically fit and can sling the ball deep down the field effortlessly. He proved his skills when he appeared in a 15-minute workout session during Michigan’s annual Maize and Blue spring game this year. Kaepernick is an exceptional quarterback. If he weren’t involved in controversies, the quarterback would have been one of the greatest players in the NFL.

Kaepernick started 58 games for the Niners and led the team towards the Super Bowl XLVII just two years into his NFL career. The question is; will the Raiders go for him overlooking a veteran, Derek Carr, who is completely fit to start games for the side in the 2022 season?
