In 2019, Kaepernick and NFL reached a settlement. According to CNBC, the former 49ers quarterback received some monetary payments as part of settlements. The amount to be paid was confidential. In response to it, the comedian Trevor Noah, in his show ‘The Daily Show,’ made comments about the former 49ers quarterback on live television.
Trevor Noah said, “That’s right, baby. Colin Kaepernick’s getting paid. Yes, after two years of fighting with the NFL, both sides have reached a settlement, and people are speculating that he got anywhere between 60 and 80 million dollars.”

He added, “Yeah, now Colin’s gonna be kneeling because his pockets are so full that he can’t stand up.” He mimics Kaepernick and says, ‘That’s why I’m just too heavy to get up.'”

He continues, “And I’m glad that Kaepernick is getting paid, especially after the NFL blackballed him for protesting, but I’m not gonna lie, I’m not gonna lie, it is a little weird that he agreed to sign their NDA because now everyone who supported Colin will never know the full story of what the NFL did to him, you know. It’s like we don’t know. It’s in secret.”
The future of Colin Kaepernick is still unclear
It has been over 5 years since Colin Kaepernick was a part of the NFL. Despite multiple efforts, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has found no success. During his days with the 49ers, he led them to a Super Bowl, which shows that he was a decent quarterback.

He recently worked out with the Las Vegas Raiders. Although he impressed a lot of people, no team has shown significant interest to sign him. As a result, it is very tough to predict what the future holds for him.
Many people would love to see Kap return to the NFL. He has been an icon off the field, and if he gets an opportunity to demonstrate his talent on the field, he can prove many of his doubters wrong.
