Earlier in the offseason, the Indianapolis Colts traded Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. The Colts wanted to move on from Wentz after a disappointing end to last season. On the other hand, the Commanders got their new QB1 ahead of the new season. However, the Commanders’ fans are not excited about seeing Wentz as their new quarterback.

So far in training camp, Wentz has not been looking good, and it is a concern for the franchise. According to Nicki Jhabvala, a reporter for the Washington Commanders: “Carson Wentz has had a rough day. Many passes thrown over the head of his receiver or too far in front.”

It wasn’t the sort of report that the Washington Commanders’ fans would have hoped to see. Their division is already very tough, and if Wentz doesn’t play well, they might finish last in it. It would be a huge disappointment for them.

There is still a month to go for the new season. Wentz has the opportunity to learn the playbook well. The preseason games will be helpful to him. Hopefully, he will get it right by the time the regular season commences.

It will be a big season for Carson Wentz

All the blame for the infamous meltdown of the Indianapolis Colts against the Jaguars in the last regular season game of the previous campaign was put on Carson Wentz. Despite having a decent campaign for the Colts last season, the last game spoiled everything for him.

He was soon shown the exit door out of Indianapolis. The Colts got Matt Ryan, and Wentz will now play in Washington. He now has a chance to prove that he is still a good quarterback. If he fails in the upcoming season, then his days in the league might be numbered.

Qualifying for the playoffs is a very tough task for the Commanders. However, if Carson Wentz is able to lead the team to a respectable record with good stats, he might prove a lot of people wrong. Wentz himself knows that he is under pressure, and he would love to rise to the occasion when the season starts.
