The Kansas City Chiefs TE is on the route to becoming one of the best in the league. A week ago, Travis Kelce achieved the record of becoming the first TE in the history of the NFL to reach 10,000 career receiving yards. And now the 33-year-old hit another impressive mark of passing the legendary Hall of Fame TE, Shannon Sharpe. To congratulate his younger counterpart, the former Denver Broncos tight end Tweeted a message.

The seven-time Pro Bowl selection caught a 12-yard catch from the lead QB, Patrick Mahomes, on the opening drive against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. Kelce has now 10,061 career receiving yards. A whole yard more than the eight-time Pro Bowler, Sharpe. 

The tight end had already taken over Rob Gronkowski when he played against the Los Angeles Chargers. In the game, fans experienced impressive chemistry between him and Mahomes.

Kelce’s three touchdowns totaled 115 yards on six catches. That marked his 33rd career 100-yard receiving game. This helped him surpass Gronk.
