Cooper Kupp gives an honest verdict

Cooper Kupp and the Rams came into Week eight, intending to show the world that they can win the Super Bowl again. But the result didn’t quite match the intent. The 49ers ran riot in the offense and opened up the host defense on multiple occasions. In the end, the Niners registered a resounding and dominant victory over the reigning NFL champions for the second time this season.

Kupp minced no words while giving a verdict on his team’s performance on Sunday Night Football. And all it took him was less than 10 words. “No other way I know but to keep moving forward,” the wide receiver tweeted after the disastrous result.

The Rams do have to keep moving forward and leave this heavy drubbing behind if they want to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy again this season. And Kupp and Co. surely know that all it takes to turn the season around is one good result with a shot of confidence.

The struggling champions

LA hasn’t really clicked as one would expect the reigning holders of the NFL trophy to. The team has struggled to find form, winning just three of the seven they have played. The defeat against the 49ers was another indication that all is not well at the SoFi Stadium.

The Rams started the season in a disastrous fashion, losing heavily to this season’s Super Bowl contenders, the Buffalo Bills. They then bounced back to win back-to-back in game Weeks two and three. The champions then lost to the 49ers in game week four. Niners’ QB Jimmy Garoppolo has thrown 1691 yards in total this season. He has completed 140 out of 210 passing attempts, scoring 11 touchdowns in the process.

LA lost to the Dallas Cowboys before coming back to register a win in game week six. The Rams are third in the NFC West table behind the 5-3 Seattle Seahawks and the 4-4 San Francisco. The team will have to turn their season around drastically if they want another shot at the Super Bowl this season. There is no other way around it, as Cooper Kupp said.
