The star receiver posted a video on his Instagram stating that he was headed to have lunch with his mom. The statements that follow are heartbreaking. They prompted the NFL world to send out their best to the former receiver.

While going to the hospital to share a meal with his mom, Irvin said that the doctors were trying to get her into hospice care. Since Irving’s birth mother passed away in 2015, there is confirmation of who he is referring to in the video. Irvin did not indicate whether he was speaking of another relative, but the love he feels for the individual is very evident.
“[I’m] going to fight for every ounce of life she has in her because I love her that much,” he added.

Irvin was a part of the Cowboys’ legendary triplets alongside Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith. Sadly a career-ending injury in 1999 against the Philadelphia Eagles put a stop to Irvin’s performances on the field.
