Dak Prescott Injury Update: Dallas Cowboys QB Feels He’s Ready to Play a Game Again

There’s every reason for Dallas Cowboys fans to be optimistic about the upcoming NFL season. While 2020 was a disappointment, the return of star quarterback Dak Prescott from injury in 2021 will give the side a much-needed boost.
The quarterback got off to a flying start to kick-off 2020. But unfortunately, his 2020 campaign was cut short when he picked up a gruesome compound fracture and dislocation of the right ankle.
The quarterback since then has been making sure to do everything he can to return to the field. And it seems like that day is now inching closer.

Dak Prescott is ready to take the field
While talking to Dallas Morning News, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback was recently asked about his progress with the injury. And much to the delight of Cowboys fans, it looks like Prescott is nearly there.
“I’m close,” Prescott said. “I can go play in a game right now and be very, very successful.”

Prescott for now remains patient and looks forward to making the next step when the time is right.

“So there is no doubt when that I need to be successful when I need to do the things that it takes to be on the field, I’ll do exactly that, and the timing will be right,” he added.
The quarterback had surgery on his ankle in October right after suffering the injury. Another minor surgery was required in December to aid with the recovery.
Dak Prescott re-signing with the franchise too was a world of good news for Cowboys fans. The franchise and their star QB were at loggerheads over a new contract since 2019.

With the QB playing the 2020 season on a franchise tag, the two parties finally found some common ground this offseason as Prescott signed a bumper 6-figure deal.
Prescott’s new contract will see him earn $160 million over the next 4 years. $127 million of which will be in guaranteed money.

This, however, sees the Cowboys lock one of the league’s most exciting QBs to a deal that will hopefully carry them back to Super Bowl glory.
