The 2020 NFL season ended on a sour note for AFC South franchise Jacksonville Jaguars. The Shahid Khan-owned franchise finished at the bottom of their division, winning just one game all season. Their poor record saw coach Doug Marrone lose his job.

College football legend, Urban Meyer, was appointed as Head Coach earlier this year as they prepare for the potential arrival of highly rated quarterback, Trevor Lawrence.

Along with the likes of Justin Fields, Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, and Mac Jones, Lawrence is one of the quarterbacks tipped to be drafted in the 1st round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

In fact, reports suggest that the Clemson Tigers superstar is expected to move to Florida and join coach Meyer’s Jacksonville Jaguars later this summer.

But what does the future hold for both these individuals who gear up for their highly anticipated NFL debut in 2021?

The Trevor Lawrence-led Jacksonville Jaguars tipped for future honors

Trevor Lawrence ended his college football career with a 34–2 record, having thrown for 10,098 yards with 90+ passing touchdowns. He is tipped as ‘the next big thing’ to make his way into the NFL.

However, on the latest segment of Get Up, journalist Dan Graziano joked about the fact that Lawrence and the Jaguars might have to wait until at least 2026 to win a Super Bowl trophy.

“That would be the London Jaguars (because owner Shahid Khan has a tie-up with London-based football club Tottenham Hotspur) led by quarterback Trevor Lawrence who just signed a $55 million a year contract extension with the London Jaguars shortly after they moved there and put the NFL’s footprint down there.

“And now we’re going to be talking about the Super Bowl we have after that being in London,” Graziano said on the show.

The Jaguars made no secret of scouting Lawrence. While there’s no harm in doing that, fans will be cautious considering the fact that Lawrence recently underwent surgery on his non-throwing arm.

He is expected to return in time for the preseason. Coach Meyer has also admitted that he is in constant touch with the 21-year-old. He is looking forward to working with him in the coming months.

Lawrence could be the man to guide the Jaguars back into the Playoffs. But is it too much to expect a rookie to do so in his debut season itself?
