It’s been a rough few days for Patrick Mahomes. The $450 million athlete, recently faced a shocking 21-20 defeat by the Lions‘. Days before that, the Chiefs’ QB witnessed another disappointing moment when he tried reaching out to Peyton Manning. While Mahomes had high hopes for a lucrative opportunity, the 2x SB champ couldn’t make himself available. Not only this, but this call showed in spam, and what happened next was all the more hilarious.

A skit released by Omaha Productions showed Patrick Mahomes calling Peyton Manning for a ManningCast audition. Eyeing a third spot in the popular ESPN talk show, Mahomes slid his proposal. However, the Manning brothers cut the call, taking a slight cheeky dig at the 7X First-Team All-Pro winner. With the ManningCast getting underway on September 11, would Mahomes get through the auditions or not? This is the question fans are asking.

With Peyton and Eli Manning joining hands for the “ManningCast” talk show. The talk show comprises some legendary auditions. In a hilarious commercial released days before the NFL 2023 season opener. It showed the passionate QB calling the Manning brothers for an audition over an Instagram reel video. He said while calling “Just a second, I got to talk to Peyton. I need to know what time I need to be there for my ManningCast audition.”

The former 2X SB winner received a call from Mahomes and his contact showed up as spam on the Sheriff’s phone. In a hilarious exchange, the former Broncos giant cut the call and sent it straight to voicemail. His contact popped up as “Spam Risk”. When Peyton Manning asked his brother, he said “Decline”.

A somewhat dejected Mahomes disappointedly remarked “Seriously, he sent me straight to the voicemail. Like I need this job.” All was done in good humor as the commercial closed. The ManningCast show comprises legendary sports personalities from different arenas. However, there are other glaring issues that Mahomes needs to consider. Apart from the ManningCast audition snub.

It has certainly derailed Chiefs’ plans.
