The San Francisco 49ers are on a new high recently. The good news keeps on coming for the fans. First, they were able to knock out the Dallas Cowboys from the playoffs. Now one of their favorite wide receivers is interested in extending his stay at San Francisco. Deebo Samuel is onboard for a blockbuster extension this offseason. 

The wide receiver has proven himself to be one of the best offensive weapons for the 49ers. His breakout season might soon pay dividends in 2022. But both the parties involved do not want to part ways so soon.

Deebo Samuel is a second-round draft pick in the 2019 NFL draft. The 26-year-old showed a lot of potentials before injuries hindered his second season. But the 2021 season is where he thrived the most. His performance has branded him as one of the most unique attackers in the league. 

The regular season was alright for Samuel. His numbers were staggering. The WR collected 77 receptions for 1,405 yards. He also made six touchdowns through the air. Deebo got 365 rushing yards and added eight more touchdowns to his record. The wide receiver got selected for the All-Pro Bowl for the first time this season.

Samuel displayed some game-changing abilities last Sunday against the Cowboys. He caught three passes for 38 yards. The 49ers’ wideout ran the ball 10 times for 72 yards. In the third quarter, he also made a 26-yard touchdown. This performance is just a glimpse of what Deebo Samuel can do on the field. 

San Francisco 49ers are interested in keeping Samuel

Reports by Ian Rapoport said that both the 49ers and Samuel are interested in potential blockbuster extensions. When it comes to extensions, the 49ers are one of the most proactive teams. Deebo Samuel is headed into his final year as a rookie. The WR has just completed his most productive season. Deebo has gathered 1,770 all-purpose yards, and that number keeps on rising.
