San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel has been ruled out of the Rams clash with a hamstring injury. The 26 YO suffered it during Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Talking about the injury, HC Kyle Shanahan said the #19 wide receiver was not good enough to go and he’ll be ready for the next game.

Defensive lineman Arik Armstead (foot, ankle), fullback Kyle Juszczyk (broken finger), and linebacker Dre Greenlaw (calf) have also been ruled out. This would mean the 49ers are playing without their full-strength squad against a challenging opponent.

Deebo Samuel has an impressive record against the Rams

After requesting a trade earlier this off-season, the star WR secured a contract extension in July. He got $58.1 million guaranteed on the new deal, which is worth up to $73.5 million, over three years. It would mean he is a costly buy. But there is one more reason the Niners would miss Samuel. It is that he has a fantastic record against their Sunday opponents. Samuel has 66 touches for 740 yards and seven touchdowns against the Rams.

With Samuel out, the team may probably replace him with Jauan Jennings. Another way to address Samuel’s absence is to use running back Christian McCaffrey. Even though Running Back is his natural position, he has a long track record of success catching passes. It would give him a bigger role.
