NFL legend Deion Sanders is recognized by many NFL fans as someone who might have many NFL Draft stories. Well, they are all absolutely right. On Monday, while the 2022 NFL Combine was in full swing, Sanders shared another legendary story involving the NFL franchise, the New York Giants. While entering the draft, Deion ‘Prime Time’ Sanders was always aware of his qualities and he did believe he will be drafted high up in the 1989 NFL Draft.

While talking about his exciting times as a prospective NFL player, he describes how the Giants showed interest in talking with him. He recalls that meeting, while stating, “I said, ‘Excuse me, what pick do you have in the draft?’ They said, ‘I think 10th. I said …’

Sanders would end up proving his words as the truth, as he got selected with the 5th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons.

After entering the league, he quickly rose to fame as in his first game. He returned a punt of 68 yards for a touchdown in his first game in a Falcons jersey. It was the sign of a great NFL career he would end up having a 14-year career and made 188 appearances in the NFL.

Deion Sanders is a man of his word

He was a player with many talents and was a shutdown corner throughout his career. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011. For his amazing 14 years in the NFL, during which he went to 8 Pro Bowls. He did end up receiving All-NFL recognition by some media outlets as a kick returner in 1992. He later did receive recognition as a punt returner in 1998.
