It’s been more than a week since the Colorado Buffaloes football appointed college football legend Deion Sanders as their head coach. Previously, Sanders worked with the Jackson State Tigers and did wonders for them. Hence, Colorado fans are also hoping for similar sort of results from the coach. In a recent interview, he promised to make a major roster change this weekend.

Notably, many fans and experts were not happy about Sanders joining the Colorado Buffaloes after promising big things for Jackson State. Many believe Sanders went there just for money; however, he already made plenty of promises for Colorado during his first press conference and he made another one recently.

Deion Sanders promises to make big changes in the team
During his recent interview, Sanders talked about the current players in Colorado, and said, “We are going to let them have a good time, then we are going to get back to work on Thursday… Then, we are going to have one of the biggest recruiting weekend we have ever had in the history of Colorado.“

It will be interesting to see what sort of changes Sanders makes in the Colorado squad this weekend. He has already announced the recruitment of Winston Watkins, a highly-rated wide receiver. Notably, Watkins is the first cousin of Packers wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

Previously, Colorado recruited the 4-star running back Dylan Edwards as well, who has been making some serious waves in college football. Apart from that, Sanders also picked his son Shedeur as their starting quarterback for the next season, during his first presser.

Sanders faced plenty of backlash for leaving Jackson State
Earlier, many NFL experts and fans criticized Sanders for leaving Jackson State. In response, he posted a cryptic tweet, trying to answer all his haters. Despite leaving JSU, Sanders still loves his old football team, as he talked about them recently.

In that same interview, Sanders promised that Jackson State will win the Celebration Bowl against North Carolina on December 17. It is worth noting that Sanders took charge of the team back in 2020. Since then, he changed the atmosphere around that place, as the Tigers won the SWAC conference title in two back-to-back years, in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Now, he is already aiming high for the Colorado team, which hasn’t won a school championship since 2001.
