Recently, The NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders had to undergo critical foot surgery. He was suffering from severe blood clots and had two left toes amputated.

The news came in like a shocker for his fans and the complete details about the surgery are now telecasted in a popular series called Coach Prime.

The series showcases the ups and downs of the legendary athlete who underwent several dark stages of life. Despite all the shortcomings, Sanders managed to hold a grip and move ahead in his career. The NFL legend is now adorning the role of a head coach for the Jackson State University Tigers football team.

Deion Sanders never lost hope!

The veteran shared all the details regarding his disease and surgery through the latest episode of the Barstool Sports series, Coach Prime. He was suffering from three femoral arterial blood clots which were life-threatening according to the doctors. It was so deadly that the clots were spotted at many points on his legs. Starting from calf to toe, he started feeling muscle pressure limiting the flow of blood and oxygen throughout his body.

In September 2021, Sanders had surgery for his dislocated toe and inflamed nerves. He had to go through unbearable pain and stayed in the hospital for quite a few days. Soon enough, the football-lifer returned to the field, coaching his students.

But that couldn’t last long, as the recovery process of his legs never happened as expected. Once again, his condition worsened with each passing day. When he used to experience extreme pain, Sanders sidelined himself and moved using a push scooter or golf cart but he never stopped!

The Champion might have lost his limbs!

The severity of his injury went onto the extent that Sanders might have lost his entire legs. In the past episodes of the show, he claimed that the doctors were even discussing amputation of his legs but with god’s grace, the surgery had only cost him two front toes.

Sanders was taken to the Mississippi hospital for his surgery and had a successful procedure with minimal losses. As soon as he got a hold of his balance, the two-time Super Bowl Champ couldn’t hold back and returned to watch his boys slaying their opponents.

During the 23 grueling days Coach spent inside a surgery ward, he missed three Jackson State games. However, they won the matches under the guidance of sub-coach Gary Harrell and the leadership of his son Shedeur Sanders, at QB.

The young Quarterback displayed his dad’s legacy by throwing a 50-yard touchdown pass with less than 2 minutes left. The duo had an emotional moment on the field when Sanders returned to meet his son. A similar insight is expected to be refracted from the season finale of Coach Prime, a must-watch for all the die-hard fans out there!
