The running back Brian Battie, who tried rushing through the defense, was caught by the hands of Watson, who picked him up like a small child and slammed him against the turf. It was a smooth play, yet terrifying to watch from a fan’s perspective. The next day, Watson posted the iconic photograph of him carrying Battie on social media with a caption, “wasted scholarship“.

The netizens misinterpreted those words and speculated on what Watson was saying about the RB. However, he revealed it was a befitting reply to all those who mocked him for utilizing a scholarship seat.

“Mostly it was when I first got here people were saying they had wasted a scholarship on me because of my weight and stuff like that, but I always knew my ability, so I felt like once I made some plays I’d post it out about a wasted scholarship,” Watson said.
