Aaron Rodgers has extremely high standards, especially from his teammates. The now New York Jets QB1, earlier boasted to Woody Johnson about some of his former Packers’ teammates, and boom- Woody recruited them to the Jets’ ranks. However, there was one player that got away, Odell Beckham Jr.

The Ravens swooping in and nabbing OBJ all to themselves must have ticked Rodgers off to a certain degree, and maybe the four-time MVP is even looking for a replacement. Amidst all the ongoing chaos, there is one former NFL veteran who believes he is ready to return to the big stage, but only if Aaron Rodgers himself came calling.

Brandon Marshall wants to play

The last time Brandon Marshall stepped on a football field was in a Seattle Seahawks uniform, in 2018. For the next five years, Marshall spent his time away from the game, living his best life and talking extensively about the game. The former WR was at the peak of his prowess during the 2015 campaign with the New York Jets, tying for the league lead with a career-high 14 touchdowns. And as it turns out, he would gladly do the same all over again, but only with Aaron Rodgers backing him up.

“I’m already ready. I got my 15 available. It will be ready. He called me right now I’m ready. I just want to play” expressed Marshall. He even has a vision for what the future could look like if A-Rod does recruit him. The WR went on to claim that he would be a monumental contributor to the team, estimating forty-five catches and 20-30 plays a game over the year.

The only issue would be Marshall’s age. Marshall and Rodgers both stand one year shy of 40, with Rodgers being a couple of months older. And it is safe to assume that the Jets’ front office would have their fair share of doubts, which ironically even Marshall had about Rodgers.

Marshall had a change of heart?

Not everyone was rallying behind Aaron Rodgers for the Jets, including Brandon Marshall. Marshall’s recent comments were fairly surprising given his conflicting take back in February. As speculations around Rodgers and the Jets kept going strong, Marshall chose Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr as the suitable choices, shunning away A-Rod.

I feel like a Derek Carr, even a Jimmy [Garoppolo], with that defense, with Elijah Moore used the right way and then Garrett [Wilson], we’re set up for the next five to seven years. If I was Woody Johnson Marshall, I would go Derek Carr as my 1, Jimmy G as my second option, and then Aaron Rodgers as my third option,” said Marshall just a couple of months back. At the time Marshall felt that the Jets had already walked this path with Brett Favre, and well that didn’t turn out so well. However, his recent comments suggest that Marshall is finally a believer and maybe Aaron Rodgers will give him a thought.
