There have been a lot of uncertainties for the Niners at the quarterback position, juggling between various prospects this season. However, they have managed it well with the help of Rookie quarterback Brock Purdy at the helm. Meanwhile, the team’s head coach Kyle Shanahan dropped a major update on Jimmy Garoppolo and his chances of returning for the upcoming playoff games.

During the Week 14 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, Garoppolo left the field following a foot injury. He won’t undergo surgery because there wasn’t any significant damage to his ligaments; however, the road to recovery is a long path. While speaking to the reporters in the press conference, Shanahan explained the gravity of the current scenario.

The head coach affirmed that he expects Garoppolo to return and make a deep playoff run. But the reality is quite uncertain at this point. “That’s still the goal,” Shanahan said about the veteran’s comeback. “… I think he can put a little weight on [the foot], but he’s not out there running and stuff like that. That’s a little bit away,” he added.
On similar grounds, Brock Purdy has been the find of this season. The rookie broke all those significant records and successfully carried the team to its winning ways.

He maintained the streak of the past nine games and has already won the trust of his veteran teammates. “You would think he’s been in the league 15 years,” Veteran tackle Trent Williams said, per The NFL.com.

“If you’re talking he’ll say shut you a– up. He ain’t no timid rookie feeling his way around. He will get on your a–. You would think he’s like Peyton Manning or something.” he added. Well, that’s a huge claim to make, but the metrics favored Purdy in all aspects, and he shall continue to render the services as a promising asset for the franchise.
Kyle Shanahan drops an update on Trey Lance’s health status
The season has been quite unfair for the North Dakota Product. He missed an entire year and is expected to return this off-season. He underwent another surgery last month, and his condition looks normal, according to the updates from the management.

“Trey’s been great,” Shanahan said, per The 49ers Webzone. “I haven’t had to go through it, but I’ve seen players do it. Trey’s handled it great, as good as any injured player I’ve ever been around.”
“He stays positive. He comes off the right way. But I know it’s a challenge for him” he added. It’s yet to be seen when exactly he gets back on the field. Till then, fans can tune in for more updates on the 49ees squad.
