However, recent figures contradict the popular belief surrounding Cowboys GM Jerry Jones and his lavish expenditure. The struggling Detroit Lions franchise has assembled one of the most expensive offenses before the start of the 2022 season.

According to ‘Over The Cap’ figures, the Lions franchise holds the top spot ahead of the upcoming season. The Cowboys are holding the No.2 spot, followed by the Washington Commanders, the Tennessee Titans, the Arizona Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite having one of the best offensive lines in the league, the Lions organization is reeling from the poor mistakes of their predecessors.

While the promise of the offensive line has brought cheer to fans, the team remains far from its goal of competing. The work under general manager Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell has not led to expected results. The franchise continues to rebuild its trenches by keeping the core of its roster intact. They will be retaining $9.8 million in salary-cap space for future moves.
