The game that was supposed to bring down agony turned out to be a nightmare for Aaron Rodgers and Co. Now it seems, the Packers are chasing a high NFL draft pick next year. Rodgers, on Sunday, added one more to his streak of losses, the fifth one in a row. This was probably his worst performance since 2008. With this defeat against Detroit, the Packers have gone down 3-6, ultimately ending all their aspirations of contending for the title. In fact, they helped the Lions improve their record, offering them a second win of the 2022 season.

In the past 15 seasons of Rodgers’ illustrious career, the quarterback has made it to the playoffs 11 times with a Super Bowl win and four NFC championship games. But this year, the slump continues to go on.

Even the Detroit fans couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed. However, the loss didn’t seem to have affected the reigning MVP’s attitude toward the opponents.

While speaking to the reporters after the game, Rodgers explained his disappointment, at the same time, spitting a comment, “Can’t lose a game like that against that team.” Well, such remarks took no time to spread like wildfire, with fans roasting him on Twitter. Netizens called out the passer for scoring only a single touchdown and conceding three interceptions near the red zones.

Although Rodgers has plans to keep the reputation of the Packers at the highest levels, slowly his team is becoming ‘that team’, especially with their recent performances. Not to mention, his accuracy was out of the discussion.

Aaron Rodgers wants to play ‘Underdogs’

Only eight games are left in the season, and this week happened to be the lowest point of Rodgers’ playing career. However, the veteran still believes that he can make a comeback and the hard times only make him more competitive.

“I’ve been counted out many times in my life, as have many of my teammates, and I hope we just dig deep and find a way,” Rodgers said after the loss. “We will truly be underdogs for many games moving forward. Hopefully, we can embrace that. We have two games at home. We’ve got to go win those two games in a week, and then this thing looks a little different,” he added.

The Lions game should have been the turning point for Rodgers, but unfortunately, it was another disappointing outing. Now it’s time for Rodgers to make a choice and unleash his best version. Because the NFL has no history of forgiving mistakes.
