Tom Brady, a gridiron legend, shattered records, claiming the NFL‘s passing yardage crown. How did he become a game-changer? A story of triumph emerged from humble beginnings as a fourth-string rookie. When fate handed him the reins to replace Drew Bledsoe, he steered the Patriots to their maiden Super Bowl win. Brady’s consistent greatness on football’s grandest stage makes him an influential icon, etching his name in the annals of sporting history.

As the NFL preseason kicks off without Tom Brady for the first time since 2000, John Middlekauff discusses the impact of Brady’s retirement on the NFL world, and it’s a hot topic dividing America. On his Aug 4, 2023, episode, he argues that Brady’s departure won’t matter much, comparing his significance to legends like LeBron, Steph, and Tiger Woods in their respective sports.

Did NFL ratings survive Brady’s exit?

American legend star’s absence would be a major blow, affecting playoffs and TV ratings, but not in football’s case. Well yes! John Middlekauff says: “I don’t think it matters that he’s gone.” The NFL is star-driven, and losing Brady, the most accomplished and famous player, won’t affect its popularity. How?

“I always say that Brady and Peyton Manning are the Magic [Johnson] and Larry Bird of football, of the internet era, of the growth of this sport,” Middlekauff says, though NBA ratings have soared recently, the NFL’s status remains strong. He also mentioned that Tom Brady is as important in football as LeBron James and Stephen Curry are in basketball or Tiger Woods in golf. They’re irreplaceable.

“Football is already big before those two guys showed up in the late 90s, but their rivalry, their greatness, their fame, they’re both being the total package help take this league to a completely different level, where it’s at now. Where they can’t afford to lose Tom Brady, who was still as famous and relevant as ever. It did not matter at all.”

According to former NFL scout John Middlekauff, the league won’t hesitate to move forward without any player, including Brady, as Tampa now faces a quarterback battle. This insight shows how much the NFL has grown and evolved, and the legacy Brady leaves behind.

But is Brady’s departure from NFL causing confusion among avid USA football fans?

The fan’s take on NFL Scout analysis

After the recent retirement of Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr., popularly known as Tom Brady, all American fans are expressing their thoughts on the changes in the NFL. The Greatest of All Time ‘GOAT’ celebrated his 46th birthday just a few days ago.

A fan agrees that the NFL will still be popular, but believe it might face some challenges: “Dude, the season hasn’t even been played yet. Although I agree with your overall point that the NFL won’t significantly suffer in popularity, I do think it’ll take some hits.”
