The offseason has ushered in a flurry of activity on the managerial front of the league. With many free agents looking for potential landing spots, the updates that have been surfacing have left fans with a mixed bag of reactions. And now, former Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot may be on a quest for a franchise to call home.

The RB has reportedly narrowed down his top three contenders. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Elliot is considering his top three options and will sign by the end of the week. The RB’s reported options include the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and the Cincinnati Bengals. However, this news raised eyebrows from some individuals who are connected to the Eagles, and their reactions don’t paint the most optimistic picture. Here’s a look at what happened.

NBC’s Reuben Frank and Dave Zangaro’s conversation on the Eagle Eye podcast didn’t showcase an optimistic perspective concerning Ezekiel Elliot’s potential move to the franchise. Contemplating Schefter’s statements, Frank said, “Look, Schefter, there’s nobody who’s more on top of these things but that [Eliiot’s move to the Eagles] would surprise me.”

Zangaro added, “And it just says like his options, you know like, I can say my three [sic] ladies that I’d like to date are Margot Robbie, Angelina Jolie and that doesn’t mean that they’re interested.” The duo seemingly dismissed the notion of the RB’s arrival at the Eagles but theoretically contemplated how the move would look.

As of now, with the lack of confirmation, the situation is open to interpretation. But aside from Elliot joining his former team’s divisional rival, how do his chances with the other two potential contenders look?

What does the future look like for Elliot?

Elliot’s release from the Cowboys was caused by his high salary and the need to create cap space. Now, after seven seasons with the franchise, the RB is headed out to find greener pastures. The New York Jets are currently navigating somewhat of a crisis of their own. While they work on bringing in 4x MVP Aaron Rodgerswho is in a complicated situation at present, the NFL world also expects Breece Hall to be back in full capacity.
