Tammy said, “When he first told me about her, he sent me this picture, and I’m like, ‘She looks familiar. I didn’t follow Ciara, but I had seen a documentary … or read an article about her. And I’m going, to be honest with you. I did say something about — I’m a mom I love my kid. And I’m like, ‘Doesn’t she have a kid?’ So he and I had conversations about that.”

Russell Wilson and Ciara started dating in 2015, and the following year, they got married. They both share two children, Sienna Princess and Win Harrison Wilson. Ciara also has a child, Future Jr., from her past relationship.

When Tammy first heard about their relationship, she couldn’t recognize the singing superstar, although Ciara was pretty famous back then. But, once she got to know about her and her baby, Tammy wanted to give his son a piece of advice. 

What advice did Tammy Wilson give to Russell Wilson?

Wilson’s mother said in the podcast, ‘OK if you’re serious about it then you have to love that kid as if it were your own, even if that means that you give that kid your name.”

More than Ciara, Tammy was concerned about Future Jr. She wanted Russell to love Future Jr., whom Ciara shares with her ex-partner and American rapper Future. Ciara and Future were engaged in 2013, but they broke up in August when Future Jr. was just three months old.

When Ciara and Russell started dating, Future Jr. was only 2-years old. It has been six years since they married, and they have been living with three of their children. Last month Future Jr. celebrated his 8th birthday.

While wishing him on Twitter, Wilson said he was the greatest blessing of his life. Wilson also is a baseball coach to his stepson and shared a picture where Future Jr. was wearing a baseball jersey while holding a trophy in his hand.
