Tom Brady called it quits on his career after a last hurrah last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Coming from the New England Patriots to the Bucs in 2020, he led them to a championship victory in Super Bowl LV. Leading the team to their first ring after 2003, one might feel that the Bucs fanbase will always have a special place for Brady in the team and in their hearts.

But when Brady recently commented on the team’s latest social media post, the fans had their own share of divided opinions.

Is Tom Brady still welcomed by the Bucs fanbase?

Recently, the Bucs drafted offensive tackle Cody Mauch as their 48th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. To welcome Mauch, the Bucs posted a picture of their center, Ryan Jensen, holding a picture of Mauch while welcoming the new draftee to the team. It is a funny post as both Jensen and Bauch are redheads, and in the post, Jensen’s front teeth have been edited out to match that of Mauch, who lost his front teeth as a seventh grader. It is certainly a meme-worthy post and Tom Brady decided to comment on it as well.

But the Bucs fanbase had their own two cents to share on Brady’s comment

One fan speculated that TB12 might have a lot of free time on his hands, commenting, “You know you don’t have anything cooler to do”

Another fan recalled Brady’s Super Bowl LV parade shenanigans and when he had blamed it on the drink. “We need you and the Avocado tequila”

This fan dared Brady to sign another contract, stating, “I dare you to sign a one-year contract”

Another fan tried to lure TB12 back by talking about the O-line, “We’re drafting an O line come back”

Another user commented, “Come back the kids miss you”

This fan questioned if Brady is ready to come out of retirement after the recent draft by the Bucs, “Ready to come out of retirement?”

While Brady might officially be retired from the game, one cannot forget his contributions as a 43-year-old QB in the league when he initially joined the Bucs and what followed after.

Brady’s legacy with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

When he initially signed with the Bucs as a free agent in 2020, the team had undergone massive changes in its coaching staff as well as the young, talented roster that was yet to prove itself. His first match with the team ended in a loss at the hands of their divisional rivals, the New Orleans Saints. But with time, Tom Brady started building his chemistry and understanding with the team. He went on to be a leader from the front, guiding the young guns with fire in their hearts, as they went on to conquer every hurdle to be crowned the Super Bowl LV champions. It was certainly a glorious time for the entire Bucs fanbase in a long time.

Brady then went on to play two more seasons, before deciding to hang up his cleats earlier this year. But with the way the fans are divided over Brady hovering on their social media, one might wonder how the fans actually hold the 7X Super Bowl champion in their hearts.
