Apart from being a successful NFL quarterback, Patrick Mahomes is a happy father of two. The gunslinger recently announced the arrival of his second child, a son, Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III, who became an additional aspect for the fans to discuss besides his football heroics. While his personal life was in the spotlight, Mahomes revealed his elder daughter’s struggles to adjust to a new family member.

Ever since the Chiefs quarterback got into the NFL, his life inside and outside the football field has been under the close scrutiny of fans. All thanks to his gunslinger attitude and phenomenal gameplay that made him stand among the best in the current generation.

While speaking in an interview with ‘The Drive’, Mahomes shared a cute story about his 21-month-old daughter Sterling Skye dealing with her sister’s duties. He mentioned the struggles Skye faced dealing with the unexpected addition of his new child.

“She wants to hold him, and take care of him, and everything like that,” Mahomes said with pride. “She wants to play all day, and we have to tell her to be gentle. And we have to tell her to don’t throw him like a toy baby. That’s a real baby you got there,” he explained. Recently, the power couple Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews caught headlines after they disclosed the second child’s arrival.

On November 28, just hours into a thumping victory against the reigning Super Bowl Champions LA Rams, Mahomes became a dad for the second time. From the gender revelation party, fans got to know that it was a boy; however, the highlight of the moment was Mahomes disclosing the name of his newborn.

Patrick Mahomes credited his brother for the unique nickname

The Chiefs quarterback wanted to make it sound special and thus gave a unique name to his son. The word Bronze in Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III was initially pitched by Jackson Mahomes, which perfectly suits his niece Sterling Skye making the bond more intact.

“He said, ‘What about Bronze? It fits perfectly with Sterling,’ so we went with that,” Mahomes said. “It works out well. He can have his own thing now, where he’s not Patrick, he’s Bronze, even though he’s Patrick. Then, Sterling and Bronze can have that connection moving forward,” he explained.

Indeed, Mahomes has more to cherish this year with a splendid season so far. He is thriving in his professional career, eying for a second Super Bowl title accompanied by some of the smartest talents in the league.
