Drake Curse Hits Alabama Crimson Tide After Georgia Bulldogs Beat them in National Championships

Rapper Drake and his curse on NCAA football teams just might have rung true once again. The Toronto-born native has been a lifelong supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Alabama recently was beaten by the Georgia Bulldogs in the CFP National Championships by a 33-18 scoreline.

The Georgia Bulldogs did look in a vulnerable position against the Alabama Crimson Tide, who did have an eventful 2021 season. They did trail by a 9-6 Alabama lead at halftime and elongating their wait for a title. Many fans did take to Twitter to investigate who Drake supports to win and Alabama once again was his choice.

The most recent post on his account had the caption “Roll Tide Roll“. The curse did rain in following the halftime break where Alabama surrenders its lead. But Alabama did fight back and ended up retaking the lead in the fourth quarter. A three-yard touchdown pass from Heismann Trophy winner QB Bryce Young to TE Cameron Latu was enough.

Drake Way 2 Damaging For Alabama

Alabama was in contention with Georgia for their 19th CFP National Championships title. But the second half did bring back their scares from the 2018 season. The then Alabama Crimson Tide fell to Clemson in the national championship by a fair margin.

Drake was seen in a video that was shot by fellow rapper artist Future. During the duration of the video, Drake does mention how he typically roots for the Wildcats and the Crimson Tide.  He does end up giving out a “Go Dawgs” chant for the camera.

The trend of teams he supports suffering and the link between them being given a name does sound made up. If that was the case then the Toronto Raptors would never have their 2019 NBA Championship. The whole Drake Curse theory is just a fun idea to basically tease the dread of the Alabama fans and Drake himself.

Whatever may be the case, the game did provide its viewers a brilliant exhibition of the future NFL draft prospects. These talented athletes will be the ones lighting up the NFL for many more years to come. If this game was an insight into the future, then all NFL fans should be getting ready for this roller coaster ride.
