As per Mary Kay Cabot from Cleveland.com, Kareem Hunt recently became a subject of denial after the Cleveland Browns denied his request for a trade. RB Hunt is in the final year of a two-year, $12 million deal and seeks an extension. To make his plea heard, Kareem also caused a hold-in with the team drills and took part only in individual practices for two days.

CBS’ Jonathan Jones reports that Kareem Hunt is using whatever leeway he needs to get the cash he believes to deserves. The career longevity gets limited at RB. However, the Browns are not keen on trading and are unlikely to do so unless a team needs an RB1 this preseason.

Jones also reports that a mid-camp hold-in is surprising, but Hunt was already considering it. It’s possible that the Browns will take care of him with a pay raise, and they may monitor him. Hunt’s optimal tactic could be to dominate for them during this season to secure his next contract.

Kareem Hunt aims to conclude his career with the Cleveland Browns

Kareem Hunt’s trade request might be a surprising move for the Cleveland Browns enthusiasts. His preferred outcome for the future is to sign another contract to stay with them for a long time. Hunt would like to finish his NFL career in Ohio because he was born and also participated in college football there.

RB Kareem mentions via NFL.com, “I was born and raised here. I’d love to finish my career here and just keep playing the game with (Nick) Chubb longer and with the great guys on this great team.” The franchise could resolve the situation by next year after judging his performance. But for the time being, Kareem Hunt is opting to keep his focus on what is currently in front of him.
