Drew Brees has had an NFL career worthy of a Hall of Famer. Following a decorated college career with Purdue, Brees entered the world of the NFL in 2001 after being drafted by the San Diego Chargers (now LA Chargers).
With the Chargers, Drew Brees had a relatively successful spell. He made his first Pro Bowl with the side in 2004. The same season, the Chargers made it to the playoffs. Their first appearance in the postseason in nearly a decade.
But as all seemed to be going well, disaster struck as Brees suffered a dislocation to his right shoulder joint and a tear of the labrum and rotator cuff in 2005. Brees was promptly released by the franchise and snapped up by the New Orleans Saints as a free agent in 2006.
