In the restructured deal, Aaron Donald will get an average salary of $31.6 million per season through 2024. Donald had agreed to a new deal that was worth $95 million. If we compare it to his previous contract, it is almost $40 million more.

Out of the massive total amount, $65 million is guaranteed and will be paid in 2022 and 2023. The guarantee amount is more than the $63 million that was offered to the Rams QB Matt Stafford. The new deal has made him the 12th highest-paid player in the NFL. Also, it is a historic moment as no other defensive player has made over $30 million in average salary. Thus, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback ever.

Donald had three-year remaining in the previous deal that offered him an average salary of $22.5 million. Before the restructured deal, Donald was the 6-highest paid among the defensive players. A lot has changed after the Rams won the Super Bowl this year.
