The mobility of Patrick Mahomes is the key for Kansas City to make plays in the Super Bowl LVII. After suffering a high ankle sprain during the playoff game against the Jaguars, the gunslinger was under the constant scrutiny of the fans. Recently, the NFL analyst James Palmer dropped a major update throwing some light on Mahomes’ situation, explaining how he is dedicated to the Chiefs’ franchise.

The quarterback’s availability ahead of the AFC title game remained doubtful because Mahomes was unable to work out properly, limping on & off the field. Plays were altered to accommodate his limitations and help him stay fit. However, the situation drastically changed last week. Not only Mahomes looked confident but also participated in all the warmups on Friday.

“Mahomes was able to move to a certain extent. Plays had been altered during the week to accommodate his limitations per sources. This week was much different. He was making plays on Friday that were wowing his teammates’ RB Melvin Gordon told me. This pregame warmup …” Palmer wrote on Twitter by sharing an entire thread.

In the follow-up message, he mentioned that there is no need to worry and the MVP candidate will make plays at the grand stage. Soon NFL fans flooded social media asserting the greatness of their quarterback.

Indeed, Mahomes resonated with a similar intention during the opening ceremony of the Super Bowl a few days ago. He shared the podium with Jalen Hurts, both speaking about their experiences and plans for Sunday. The very first question Mahomes encountered was about his ankle. Without a second thought, he mentioned that it felt great.

According to the latest updates from Arizona, the Chiefs quarterback incurred a similar injury during Sunday’s high-stake game. Eagles’ linebacker T.J Edwards tackled Mahomes and brought him down just a few minutes before half-time.

He targeted the quarterback’s ankle while executing the tackle, and subsequently, Mahomes limped off the field, suffering intense pain. After the medical team examined his injury, the Chiefs marched toward the locker room.

The Eagles kicked for a successful field goal after Mahomes’ departure, improving their lead to 10 points. By the half-time whistle, the scoreboard displayed 14-24 in favor of the Eagles. It is yet to be seen whether Mahomes continues to play till the end.
