The Xtreme Football League, often known as the XFL, has found new broadcasting partners in advance of its revival in 2023. Currently, Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and RedBird Capital Partners own this professional American Football League. As the league prepares to make a comeback, Disney and ESPN have obtained the rights to broadcast XFL games in the 2023 season. 

The dates of the tournament are out, and games will finally begin on 18th February 2023. There will be 2 divisions in the XFL, East, and West. Both the divisions will comprise 4 teams each. The teams of particular divisions will face off each other in 40-regular season matches, thus the winners making it to the semi-finals. Each division will play a championship game to win the league trophy.

Founder of RedBird Capital Partners, Gerry Cardinale said- “It is a privilege to join forces with the incredibly talented team at Disney and ESPN and bring Dany and Dwayne’s vision for world-class football and live event entertainment to our fans and players.”

Disney and ESPN will have exclusive broadcasting rights to the whole event thanks to this multi-year agreement. ABC, ESPN Networks, and FX will broadcast all the XFL action. The networks are under four-year contracts.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon re-launched the XFL on January 25, 2018. The first season, featuring a 10-week regular season, began in 2020. However, owing to the Covid 19 epidemic, the league could only last 5 weeks and the remaining matches were canceled. McMohan filed for bankruptcy, and later Dwayne Johnson and his partners purchased the XFL for $15 million in August 2020.
